SurfForecaster (surfforecaster.com) is run by Nick Cabugos in Santa Barbara, California. This page explains what the site collects and the choices you have.

What we collect

There are no accounts. Our hosting providers, Vercel and Railway, keep standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested and time) to run and secure the site. The site remembers the last region you picked in your browser's local storage. That stays on your device.

Email and feedback

If you subscribe on the Contact page, we keep your email address to send swell updates, news and occasional offers from local partners. If you send feedback, we receive your message and, if you give one, your email address so we can reply. Both are handled by our email provider, Resend. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time. We never sell or share your email address with partners or advertisers.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used. It sets cookies and receives your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you view. We use it only to improve the site. With Global Privacy Control on, Google signals and ad personalization are turned off for your visits. You can also install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.

Advertising

Ads on this site are served by Google AdSense.

• Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the Internet.

Links to partners, such as Santa Barbara Boat Charters, include tags that tell the partner a visit came from SurfForecaster. They carry no personal information.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google's consent message before personalized ads are shown.

To the extent the California Consumer Privacy Act applies to this site:

• What we collect: identifiers (IP address, cookie and device IDs), internet activity (pages viewed, ad views and clicks) and approximate location from your IP address. It comes from your browser. If you subscribe or send feedback, also the email address and message you give us.

• Who receives it: our hosting providers, our email provider (Resend), Google (Analytics and AdSense) and its ad partners. Using it for personalized ads can count as "sharing" under California law. We do not sell it for money and do not collect sensitive personal information.
• Your rights: to know what we hold, to delete or correct it, to opt out of sale or sharing, and to not be treated differently for using these rights.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

Turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, and this site honors it automatically: ads are not personalized for you, with no pop-up and nothing else to do. You can also opt out in Google's Ads Settings above, or email a request to cabugosb3@gmail.com.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
